When we got to Iowa I was in desperate need of a haircut and color. I didn't know anyone to ask for referrals, but my hair was driving me so crazy that I thought it couldn't wait. I stopped at a salon and just randomly picked someone that had an open appointment and figured I would take a chance. Well, here are the results... the worst hair cut that I have ever had, not to mention the most expensive - the most I have ever paid!! When I got home Russ told me that I looked like a completely different person. I mentioned to this girl that I wished I had dark hair (I didn't say that I wanted it)and she colored my hair brown. I had to go back the next day and have her add some blonde because it washed me out so bad. Then she totally butched my bangs - they are in the middle of my forehead, not to mention that they are not cut well at all. And, did you check out the back? It is so short in places I can barely get it into a ponytail. It looks like a mini-mullet. So, the moral of the story is DO NOT pick someone at random, epecially when she starts talking about raising calves from bottles and having rodeos on their animals. Now, I am a country girl at heart, but I should have known it was a bad sign for my hair. It's a good thing that hair grows and I will be taking those prenatal vitamins to speed up the process. A hard lesson learned....

Lesson Learned...

Oh to be able to get a bad haircut and still look that good! Finding a new stylist is possibly the worst thing about moving. I think it is worse than finding a good doctor! So, you'll have to get brave and when you see someone with cute hair, ask them who does it. Chances are, if you ask enough people you'll find out they go to the same place. A good hair stylist is hard to find. In the meantime, you're right it grows (unless it's my hair, I've been trying to grow it for two years, it looks pretty much the same)and honestly, you're still gorgeous!
Katrina - you still look completely adorable. That color really brings out your blue eyes. But... if you really aren't happy with your cut, I would march right back in the salon and have them fix it for you. It's their job to make you happy!
I've never had a good eye for hair, so I'm definately not one to ask, but I think you look great! I do sympathize with the shorties in the back. I hate having uneven peices that just flop all over.
But apparently you can make even a mullet look good :)
While I agree, you still look GREAT! I have decided to put off getting my hair cut, I too am in need of a cut, but have been to scared to go somewhere, in the the new town, as I know no one to ask where to go, and your expereince convinced me I can wait until I go home in a few weeks and have my normal gal cut it. Thanks for the post, you may have saved another from a huge mistake. Amanda
I have had my share of bad haircuts so I can completely sympathize but you look geat and just remember the hair will grow and in the meantime look at girls in your ward that you like their hair and then try that stylist but truly your hair looks great!
Any hair is good hair, I say. Regardless of color or cut. And I can say that!!
I love that you posted that! And I'm so sorry. Good thing you have such a cute face, but yes I agree, that was a terrible haircut in the back. What was she thinking?
