I am wondering if any of you have a fabulous dinner recipe that you would be willing to share. I am so tired of the "same 'ol thing" and wondered if you've stumbled across a new recipe that you have enjoyed. You can post it here or email me.
Or, do you have favorite cooking blog or website that you visit often?
I don't really love cooking, but I enjoy it more when I have something tasty to make. If I don't plan a menu I look through the cupboards, hoping that a hired cook will hop out and offer to cook for me. I would really love to have some of those elves from Harry Potter that make incredible meals and work for free! Hiring a cook isn't even a possibility, so I might as well buck up and do it myself! Any help you can offer will be greatly appreciated (and I'm sure Russ and the boys will appreciate it even more!).
Happy Cooking!!

Katrina, I don't really love to cook either! I'd be fine with cold cereal every night!(What would our dear grandma think?) Fortunately my husband likes to cook! Mykitchencafe.blogspot.com has some really good recipes though that I have tried.
mykitchencafe is great! Easy, wonderful recipes. Check out my co-op blog...http://radrecipes.blogspot.com where we share recipes we have made. If you want in, let me know! I can add you. I also LOVE krafts food website and dinner made easy.com too. Good luck! Let us know if you find something delicious!
I have been having the same dilemma lately!! My idea of switching it up lately is to add different kinds of meat to our spagetti sauce.
I really love The Pioneer Woman Cooks blog. I've been follow her blog for a couple years now and everything I've tried has been delicious. I really like it because most of the ingredients she uses are things I already have on hands. I received her cookbook for Christmas and again... totally delicious, although most of the recipes in the cookbook can be found on her website. Try the Pasta ala Betsy, it's a favorite of ours. I think it calls for wine, but you can substitute a little extra chicken broth instead.
Oh, one more idea... a friend of mine from high school started the blog, Cooking Lean like Paula Deen. She takes Paula Deen's recipes and makes them healthier. She has some good ideas. http://www.cookinlean.com/
A couple of new food blogs that I have found and we have all loved: ahintofhoney.blogspot.com and the nielsondiet.blogspot.com. The first one has some great pizza that she made pretty healthy and great pasta. Good luck.
I have posted several on my blog if you want to scan through it. Easy, cheap meals are about the only ones I seem to make anymore:) K eats me out of house and home! We do have a good variety though. I was just thinking today about posting more. You've inspired me...perhaps I'll get a couple new ones up within the week.
Yea! I'm so glad you did this post! I've been wanting to blog the same thing! I just bought "Better Homes and Gardens New Junior Cook Book". Maybe not five star dining but something fun for you and the kids plus the food tastes pretty good :) Jason's all time fave is the Carbonnara recipe in the Meadowbrook cookbook but we us smoked sausage, and shrimp!!
My family loves this! I'm making it tonight. Also I like kraftfoods.com. You can enter ingredients you have on hand and it will give you suggestions.
Ham & Swiss Casserole
1 8oz pkg wide egg noodles
2 c. chopped ham
2 c. shredded swiss cheese
1 can cream of mushroom soup
1 c. sour cream
In 13x9 in. pan, layer ham and cheese. Mix slightly. In separate bowl, mix soup and sour cream. Pour over other ingredients. Bake at 350 for 45 min. Cover during 1st half of baking.
Oops, I left out something in the recipe. In the instructions it should say layer noodles, ham, and cheese.
